Ben Taylor, LCMHC

Effective counseling requires a good match between therapist and client. You're looking for answers and Ben aims to teach clients how to manage their thoughts and emotions. While he loves learning his client’s stories, he loves teaching them how to handle their most difficult thoughts and emotions even more. He views his role as a therapist to not just listen to you, but to help better manage your thoughts and emotions.

Ben is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and co-owner of Sycamore Counseling Center. He specializes in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, PTSD, and Panic Disorder. He also works well with depression, life transitions, and marriage/relational problems.

He holds Master’s of Science in Counseling from Milligan University.  He primarily utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or similar treatment models such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP for OCD/Panic). He is a Level I Gottman Method therapist. Ben is also a licensed professional counselor (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee (#3948)

He is a native of East Tennessee. In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. You can also find him stomping around the local outdoors hiking or fly-fishing. On Saturdays in the fall, he’s another emotionally dysregulated Vols fan.
